Skills

After 30 years in the Information Technology (IT) field, Jim brings to the table the ability to resolve computer problems and issues and help business owners maintain their up-time while protecting their data from loss, corruption, or hacker vulnerabilities.

Working with owners, managers, and office personnel, Jim can help suggest what technology works best for each company’s unique wants and needs while keeping the IT expenses cost to a minimum without sacrificing quality.

A business owner himself, Jim is very conscious of what it takes to be successful in today’s environment. His system and network experiences can help your firm excel in your computer day to day operations.

A native Memphian, Jim Montgomery was a graduate of Briarcrest High School and finished his upper education at Montreat-Anderson College and The University of Alabama. Always outgoing and fun-loving, Jim was a cheerleader at Montreat-Anderson College his first year and went on to be the school’s mascot the following year.

After working as a district sales manager for a hardware company, Jim finally fulfilled a life- long dream of opening his own business, so in 1989, he found investors, created a C Corp, sold stock, and started from scratch building his business.

After selling a computer to News Radio 600 WREC in Memphis, the general manager asked him to host his own computer radio show for six months. After the success of the show, his contract was renewed for a total of almost 14 years.

Also writing a weekly computer article for “The Memphis Business Journal” for three years with a circulation of over 100,000, and being a regular weekly guest on FOX 13 Good Morning Memphis for almost four years, Jim has an ability to take complicated issues and communicate them so others can easily understand the technical issues of a problem and what was done to resolve those problems.

An avid tennis player, Jim joined an ATP tennis team who won the Memphis City Tournament, went on to win the Tennessee State Tournament, and played in the Sectionals Tournament, losing to the team that ended up winning Nationals.

Jim is an Eagle Scout and has been married for over 25 years to Beverly Montgomery, a Meridian, Mississippi girl who he met at The University of Alabama.
